The screenshots on the left show the shortest route to reach the upper balcony.

When you reach the mural puzzle, step on the pressure pad, and then shoot the circled diamonds to open the door leading directly to the movable ball.

When you drop the ball to the ground, load Uzis and keep shooting it to move it faster.

Once you emerge into this room, roll over the edge to immediately drop to the floor. You will loose some health, however.

When you reach the main room, refer to our walkthrough for a direct route through this and all of the side rooms. Briefly, it goes like this:

» Poseidon switch
» Hephaestus switch
» Hephaestus door
» Damocles switch
» Atlas switch
» Atlas door
» Damocles door
» Poseidon door

On your way to the Hephaestus door, when you reach this ledge, traverse right to the edge and jump from it. Lara will immediately grab the ledge just in front of the door below.

Once inside the Hephaestus room, if you get knocked down by the electricity, keep pressing Jump so that Lara immediately bounces off the floor when she hits it.

On your way to the Atlas door, when you hang on the ledge shown in the screenshot to the left, let go and, as soon as you land on the slope below, jump. You don't need to traverse over the ledges to the right.

While turning the mechanism in the Atlas room, it is not necessary to turn it all the way around. You can stop before the end, and still make it across the pit.

When you trigger the rolling globe, you can try to grab the ledge to your left side and quickly make your way up, onto the platform, to safety. This is very tricky, but doing so precludes the need to pull the switch that extends the horizontal pole over the pit.

Once in the Damocles room, when you go to make your way around the room to reach the upper floor, stick to the left side of this area, so you don't get hit by the falling swords. You can run along, but you will knock down two swords which, fortunately, will not hurt you.

Just like before, you don't need to turn the mechanism all the way around. As soon as you see the door opening, quickly let go of the switch, jump down, and exit the room.

On your way to the Poseidon door, don't forget to roll through this crawl space in order to pass through it quickly.

Once you reach the top of the Poseidon room, position Lara as shown in the screenshot to the left, run, and jump to the edge. Lara should grab the alcove ahead. Note that this is also a tricky jump.
